The Fotopro X-Aircross 2!
Finding the right tripod for your photography needs can be a hard and difficult decision to make. You want something that is light, but also sturdy, you want ease of use, and also not bulky. About 6 years ago I came across the company Fotopro, and since then I have never looked for a different company to buy my tripods from.
I started my Fotopro journey with the C5i in a brilliant bright orange. From there I was lucky enough to win one of Fotopro’s Instagram contests which landed me a X-Go Max in Carbon Fiber. The X-Go Max has been my go to tripod for years, and has never given me any issues. Recently I was accepted as one of Fotopro’s X-Aircross2 Product Experience Officers, allowing me to have a first hand experience with one of their newest tripods. This opportunity has brought be full circle back to a lovely orange tripod that I have been loving every minute of.
Below are some detail and behind the scenes images of the tripod that I’ve taken.
My initial first reaction with this tripod was how light it is. I really can’t express in to words how light it is, weighing only 2 pounds! Which is absolutely insane. Heavy tripods are usually more stable due to their weight holding them down, however for something of this stature, it is incredibly stable. I had no issues using my hefty 14mm lens or my 150-600 lens on this tripod. This weight is fantastic for going on lengthy hikes or trips where every ounce matters. The tripod comes with expansion slots that allows you to attach Fotopro’s Magic Arms to hold on to various accessories. It also features a quick lock system for the legs, simply just turn the legs and extend them to your desired length, up to 5ft tall. I think this is better than the conventional system that uses multiple locks to extend out the parts of the tripod legs. I’ve tried other tripod brands and I really enjoy this innovation that Fotopro has come out.
Below is a handful of images that I’ve taken while using this tripod. These images are all under various conditions showing the versatility of the tripod and the conditions it can handle.
I really look forward to continuing to use this tripod as my main tripod and will probably get another! Until I am excited to keep creating with this tripod.
